Know about NCC Uniform and Its Accessories



Uniforms are always an impetus of pride which instills a spirit of deep chauvinism into whosoever wears it. Almost all the uniforms in India come up with detailed accessories that add up to the sheen of a proud uniform officer. In NCC also, the significance of uniform is no less than any of the forces. Beret Cap
It is the most significant part of the NCC uniform. It is a green-colored cap having a batch and hackle connected to it.

Hackle in beret
Decorated on the NCC headdress, the hackle is a feather with a specific color. In NCC, the hackle is of red color.

Cap Badge
A cap badge, also known as head badge or hat badge, is a badge worn on uniform headgear. Since NCC is written on badge therefore it distinguishes NCC students from others.

Neck Scarf
Neck scarf in NCC uniform is a piece of striped cloth worn around the neck. The colors of the stripes are periodically appearing golden, light blue, dark blue, and red.

Tericot Shirt and Trouser
NCC uniform has tericot shirt and trouser. NCC uniform comes in three color these are in Khaki, White and light blue grey. Army cadets wear khaki uniform. Naval cadets wear white uniform of Navy. Air Force cadets wear light blue grey (LBG) uniform. The uniform is compulsory on all the occasions.

Shash
A shash is a long cloth worn on right shoulder tracing your left upper thigh area. In NCC, a shash is red in color.

Name Plate
Name plate contains the name of the student along with their father’s name. It is generally attached on Shash.

Fourragère
It is a decorative piece worn on the left side. NCC Fourragère is made with three colors each symbolizing a service out of the tri-services.

Lanyard
These are used to secure the pistol or sword. In NCC uniform, a lanyard is received by high-ranked officers in NCC.

Belt with Buckle
NCC uniform includes leather or web belt with steel bukle with NCC written on it.

Kamarband and Jhalar
Kamarband and Jhalar are the ceremonial items in NCC uniform. These are worn under the belt. Kamarband and Jhalar have four colors which are Golden, Red, Dark Blue, and Sky blue.

Cotton Anklet
Made from the cotton cloth, anklets come in a pair and cover the area where the trousers tucked into the boots. They comes in white colour.

DMS Shoes
Drill marching shoes are specially designed shoes for drills. These are the very first asset of an NCC Cadet.
